Background on SIP-027
SIP-027 proposal aimed to introduce a more user-friendly multisig transaction format, designed to coexist with the current format outlined in SIP-005. The core objective of SIP-027 was to eliminate the fixed signer order requirement, thereby streamlining the signing process without compromising security or increasing transaction size. This enhancement was proposed with the goal of improving wallet support for Stacks multisig transactions and ultimately providing a more seamless experience for users.
What's next?
Support for Non-sequential Multisig Transactions will be included in the Nakamoto release, paving the way for a more flexible and user-friendly approach to multisig transactions on the Stacks layer. Up next, we expect a vote related to sBTC’s Bootstrap phase (SIP-028) in mid-September. Follow the Stacks Foundation X account or join the weekly public SIP calls for the latest updates.
