SIP-025, proposed by core developers and an active Signer (thank you to @Crypt0Jan at Alum Labs) and then further refined through Signer feedback, focuses on temporarily simplifying the threshold signature scheme for Signers under Nakamoto.
What is SIP-025?
SIP-025 is a "rider" SIP, meaning it serves as an addendum to the previously accepted SIP-021. SIP-021 covers the significant architectural shift to the Stacks blockchain, aiming to enhance block production speed and reliability, otherwise known as Nakamoto. SIP-025 proposes a short-term change to one specific aspect: the signature generation schema. For more information on this SIP, refer to this post. We thank the Signers who participated in testing, refinements, and feedback along the way. Their collaboration with Core Developers is already paying dividends for the Stacks network and we look forward to their expertise and skills playing a key role in the ongoing improvement of the leading Bitcoin L2 for years to come.
