Special Events Lead
We're looking for an experienced event strategist with a background in crypto and blockchain events.

The Stacks Foundation is a force-multiplier within the Stacks Ecosystem; a collection of independent entities, developers, and community members working to create a user-owned internet on Bitcoin.

We are looking for an experienced event producer with the ability to plan and execute a slate of in-person, virtual, and hybrid events. In addition to producing events, we are looking for someone that can consistently identify and secure strategic speaking spots, sponsorships, and creative event-focused partnerships and engagements.

You'll thrive in this role if you have planned events ranging from hackathons and grassroots meetups on up to large-scale conferences with hundreds and even thousands of attendees. You will be working directly with the Stacks community to understand and fulfill their needs when it comes to event-driven content. You will also have the opportunity to activate and include community leaders, Stacks Advocates, and Stacks Chapters in your overall events strategy and to play a key role in creating reusable content and best practices for the ecosystem to leverage as part of their own efforts.

This role offers a lot of autonomy and moves at a fast pace, you’ll work alongside an ambitious and friendly team. We take pride in delivering projects quickly and with creativity.
What you'll do
  • Produce world-class events that grow the profile and community surrounding Stacks and the Stacks Foundation
  • Create and lead execution of an events strategy that leverages the collective power of the Stacks Ecosystem
  • Support the continued growth of events in the ecosystem by producing playbooks, best practices, and campaigns that other entities and individuals in the ecosystem can choose to leverage
  • Plan events that serve to grow the community, educate developers, position Stacks among other top projects, & serve other key Stacks Foundation goals.
What we're looking for
  • Experienced event strategist (5-7 years minimum) with direct crypto experience and industry familiarity
  • A leader with experience negotiating talent, venue, and other event-related contracts
  • A leader with a proven track record producing highly attended events, both virtual, in-person, and in between
  • A creative thinker that can bring fresh ideas and a unique style to our events
  • A community-oriented individual that can hone in on ways to make events serve the Stacks community
  • A technology savvy producer that is familiar with the best tools to maximize attendance, engagement, and most importantly, attendee experience.
